The Mirror Incident A.K.A. No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

A few years ago my parents decided to get rid of their old dresser with a big mirror attached to it. They were just going to take it to the dump but I had a better idea. I suggested that we post it on Facebook to see if anyone would be interested in it and could have it for free as long as they picked it up. Somebody was interested in the dresser but long story short my dad and I would be delivering it.

As the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished. We got the dresser loaded into the back of my dad's truck but because the mirror wouldn't come off (yet), it was not the sturdiest. I thought about sitting in the bed of the truck with it but we decided we would just drive realllly slow.

The start of our long trek from the middle of town to the west end was going great until we got 4 blocks from home and turned onto Poly. As we took the turn the unthinkable happened. The mirror cracked off the dresser and shattered in the middle of Poly during 5 o' clock traffic! 😭 My dad and I watched horrified as the mirror exploded and sent glass ricocheting in every direction possible.

Luckily some nice people stopped to help clean up the broken glass and others brought out brooms from their house. After the chaos of the situation and clean up was FINALLY over, we delivered the dresser as is a.k.a. with no mirror. 🙄

P.S. Make sure you actually hit the save button after writing a post or you'll end up having to retype it a time or two like I just had to. 🙃🙃🙃

Bingo!!!

When I first turned 18 I used to go to bingo. I could finally legally gamble and had been waiting to win some serious cash. So occasionally me and a friend or family would go somewhere to play it, like Big B Bingo. For awhile this turned into something fun to go check out on the regular. One day my mom and I went together. She was a little reluctant about going because she was more in the mood for having a good, rowdy time. I don't know if you've ever been to this venue but it is pretty much the exact opposite of "rowdy". I'll set the scene for you. The people there are very serious about their bingo and it is quiet enough that you could hear a pin drop. Oh well, we still decided to go just for a few rounds. My mom had a drink or two before knowing there wouldn't be alcohol there so our table was already a little bit louder than the rest. We finally got our boards and got a couple games in. All of sudden my mom was asking the person next to her if the patt...

Vegas: A Place For Fun & Meltdowns At Evil Dead

A couple years ago in Vegas one of the things I was really wanting to go see was the Evil Dead parody play because I had watched the movie recently and I love scary things. My mom being the good mom agreed to go with me (thank you mom). I wasn't 21 yet so we got in line quite a bit early since it was getting pretty late but my mom had a few beers before on the walk there. As the night went on the and the line got longer we weren't moving and it had been over an hour that we had been standing there waiting to get in. My mom was starting to get a bit impatient at this point. FINALLY a few of the actors came out to the line to start letting people in but first they decided to dance around some... I was looking at the different costumes, they were dressed like zombies and some of the guys were dressed like women when I hear a yell from a familiar voice "Let's get this show on the road!" I glared over at my mom who was the one yelling this! Now I'm getting nervous...

The Grandma Lyfe✌

I used to go out on the town allll the time. I got into the routine of loving the commotion that came with loud music and #shotsshotsshots as Lil Jon would say. I have many crazy stories that I can look back at, laugh out loud about (even if I'm laughing out loud by myself in public like a crazy person 😮) and usually think how equally ridiculous they were. 9 pm used to be the starting time for those crazy nights which by now very I will very likely be half asleep by. 😴 Over time those kinds of fun nights turn into a different, much more fun kind of night. "Netflix and Chillin' " with my bf, dinner and wine nights with my girl friends accompanied by long, meaningful conversations are the new norm. I still like the occasional wild night out or that fun night at a rock concert 🤘 although hanging out with dogs at home watching some reality tv has become much more of my reality 🐶. I think I am officially living the ...
