Exact Change Por Favor

It's funny to me when you start to see the resemblances you have to family members without even realizing it. One person I have come to realize I am very much alike is my father, Bill.

For this to make sense, let me tell you about some of the more funny resemblances.

I went to dinner with my family but we drove two separate vehicles. We were going to go look at some Christmas lights together afterwards so we met in a different parking lot so I could drive along (and not get my truck hit in the psychotic Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot). My mom rode with me to go park. As we got to the mall parking lot I didn't see my dad's truck yet, so I headed to where I usually park at (I am a creature of habit). All of a sudden my mom starts pointing to a different area of the parking lot, saying I should go park over there, it'll be much easier, and that's where she normally parks. I shook my head because I was driving and that was not where I was going to park. I kept going my original way and pulled right into a spot next to none other than my dad. Now my mom is the one shaking her head saying "you're just like your father, you two think exactly alike."

Every pay check I budget my money out, down to the exact penny.  When it comes time to pay at the store I also, obviously, will most likely have my money counted out and ready, down to the last penny. Sometimes my mom will ask, why do you need this exact amount, just round up. Well in my head I have everything EXACTLY planned out and changing it by a few cents would throw all of my plans into mass chaos. There is someone else in my life who also uses this exact same process when it comes to money and paying. You guessed it, my father.

Often times when I catch myself doing something weird like a weird voice or strange little dance, I think to myself "thanks dad". He will often walk by the living room when we are all sitting watching tv and stop to share a new jingle he has come up with as well as the accompanying dance, which is always quite hilarious.

I always find it a little funny as well when people say, "You look just like your dad!", meaning I must look like an older, man. πŸ€”πŸ˜…

Vegas: A Place For Fun & Meltdowns At Evil Dead

A couple years ago in Vegas one of the things I was really wanting to go see was the Evil Dead parody play because I had watched the movie recently and I love scary things. My mom being the good mom agreed to go with me (thank you mom). I wasn't 21 yet so we got in line quite a bit early since it was getting pretty late but my mom had a few beers before on the walk there. As the night went on the and the line got longer we weren't moving and it had been over an hour that we had been standing there waiting to get in. My mom was starting to get a bit impatient at this point. FINALLY a few of the actors came out to the line to start letting people in but first they decided to dance around some... I was looking at the different costumes, they were dressed like zombies and some of the guys were dressed like women when I hear a yell from a familiar voice "Let's get this show on the road!" I glared over at my mom who was the one yelling this! Now I'm getting nervous...

Doors

I have always found doors to be very intriguing.  They are objects that can seem so plain and boring and necessary, but once you really start paying attention to them, there are some really quite interesting doors. For example, I started looking on Pinterest and the images of different door designs that continuously pop up in my newsfeed are fascinating. In my eyes they quickly turn from just another boring object to something that can be turned into a work of art. During travel to other cities and states, I especially like to pay close attention to the different masterpieces that lead into someone's home or workplace. I also love what doors resemble. They are the entry way into everything in life. Into someone's whole world that you may  have never known about before. They hold memories behind them and open up for future opportunities. I think by paying attention to the little details it relates directly to the notion in life of it being the little things in life that rea...

The Mirror Incident A.K.A. No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

A few years ago my parents decided to get rid of their old dresser with a big mirror attached to it. They were just going to take it to the dump but I had a better idea. I suggested that we post it on Facebook to see if anyone would be interested in it and could have it for free as long as they picked it up. Somebody was interested in the dresser but long story short my dad and I would be delivering it. As the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished. We got the dresser loaded into the back of my dad's truck but because the mirror wouldn't come off (yet), it was not the sturdiest. I thought about sitting in the bed of the truck with it but we decided we would just drive realllly slow. The start of our long trek from the middle of town to the west end was going great until we got 4 blocks from home and turned onto Poly. As we took the turn the unthinkable happened. The mirror cracked off the dresser and shattered in the middle of Poly during 5 o' clock traffic! &#1285...
